Hey families,

Soon we’ll be launching our new two-way messaging and communication feature within our district app! But before this rolls out, we wanted to share a bit more information about how families like yours can get the most out of it.

This two-way messaging feature is called Rooms, and it exists within our district app. What that means for you is that you don’t have to use another tool to keep up with your child’s teachers and their coursework. Pretty convenient, right?

This feature is meant to replace our current parent-teacher communication tool
[List previous app here]. By bringing classroom communication and messaging into our district app, we hope to create a richer, simpler, and ultimately better communication experience for you.

So what exactly does Rooms have to offer?

Rooms for Teachers 2
MEssages

With Messages, teachers and guardians can message each other whenever they need to, and students can ask teachers classroom-related questions. This is a secure space for student-teacher communication that is monitored by administrators.

Translations

Messages and Announcements within Rooms will automatically be translated according to the language setting on your device. That means if your phone is set to Spanish, Messages and Announcements within Rooms will automatically be translated to Spanish—without you having to change a single setting on the district app.

Classes

When you open Rooms in our district app, the first page you’ll see is the Classes Homepage. This page gives you quick and easy access to all of your student’s classes, and you can view notifications within each class.

Stream

Here, teachers and staff can post class content, and students and guardians can view any new updates. You can see class announcements, pictures of activities and events, and upcoming assignments within a particular class.

Behavior

Want to know how your student is doing in the classroom? With Behavior, teachers can allocate points to their students for classroom participation, good behavior, and demonstrating our school’s values. As a guardian, you’ll be able to keep track of these points within Rooms and communicate with teachers when you have questions about your student’s behavior in class.

How do I sign up for Rooms?

Email and text

Soon you'll receive an invite to Rooms by email or text. Once you receive the invite, you'll follow the link on your website browser to create a login. After you’ve created your login, you can then access Rooms through the [School District] app.

Toggle

Once you’re in the app, you’ll see a toggle at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Just touch Rooms to get started. If you have multiple children attending our district, you’ll see them all listed in the menu section of Rooms.

One of the benefits of Rooms is that you only have to sign up once. You’ll continue to use this tool until your child graduates.
